Crest Transfer Form
Crest Transfer Forms enable certificated share holdings to be dematerialized into the Crest Settlement system where they can be held under a nominee agreement or transferred electronically to other Crest participants most commonly in settlement of a Stock Exchange transaction. The vast majority of sale transactions in respect of U.K. listed securities require a signed Crest Transfer Form, together with a covering certificate, to enable settlement to take place.
Stock Transfer Form
The use of Stock Transfer Forms has decreased dramatically over the years, currently being mainly used in place of unit trust renunciation forms. They may however still be used to transfer title of U.K. registered securities including Crest eligible holdings. A Stock Transfer Form may still be required when selling certain residual holdings, most notably some U.K. Building Society PIBS and most South African registered securities.
Australian Standard Transfer Form
An Australian Standard Transfer Form is required to transfer title of Australian registered securities mainly as a result of Stock Exchange trades. Unlike the U.K. shareholders in Australian companies only receive a statement as confirmation of their holding, which includes a shareholder reference number to be quoted when effecting a transfer. The signatures of transferor and transferee are required on Australian transfers. Section B notes are available here.
