DJ US Airlines Show First Profit Since 2019 -- Market Talk

1327 ET - US scheduled passenger airlines reported an after-tax net profit of $1B in 2Q, the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics says. That's despite a pre-tax operating loss of $3.6B. It's the first quarterly profit since 4Q 2019. In 1Q, the airlines reported a loss of $4.2B and a pre-tax operating loss of $12.7B, the BTS says.
